Thor

Meet Thor, an approximately 15-year-old, 16hh registered Thoroughbred gelding with a touching tale of resilience and transformation. He came to us from an auction in Alberta in the summer of 2021, and his journey since then has been inspiring. When Thor first arrived at SCCR, he carried the weight of a difficult past. He was sad, shut down, and in immense pain due to severe thrush and overgrown/cracked feet. Thanks to the dedicated care of our farrier and the loving attention from volunteers, Thor has undergone a remarkable transformation. He has blossomed into a spirited, expressive, and happy boy. Thor is a quick and eager learner, and has had quite a bit of training behind him. His ground skills in the arena and on the ground are soft yet enthusiastic and show his previous training.

Patience and understanding are key to Thor's continued progress. As he and his SCCR trainer start him back under saddle in the Spring 2024 for some adventures which Thor adores.

Thor's ideal partner would be a patient person, willing to work at his pace, and providing him with a supportive environment that helps him stay relaxed and connected. If you're someone who is willing to offer love, patience, and dedication, Thor could be the perfect equine for you.
