Oscar

Oscar is a OTTB gelding in his late teens or early twenties. He’s a big boy, likely approaching 17hh, and has been sound and healthy during his time on the ranch. He arrived in late fall of 2022, and has been easy to handle from the start. He is very sweet and happy to interact with humans. He has done time on the track and also, apparently, on the trails. He is a gentleman when in hand, but he is very bound to his paddock buddy ‘Casper’. It’s been difficult to settle him when he is separated from Casper, or even when Casper is taken out. As a result we have done very little work with him, but he does get walks in the forest and runs in the arena with his herd mates. It’s very likely that after a period to adjust to separation from Casper, Oscar will be a very easy horse to get going. Or perhaps there is someone out there able to take both horses and keep them together? Although we haven’t mounted Oscar yet, for the reasons above, we fully expect he is broke to ride - he has a track record as a racehorse. This sweet boy will make someone a lovely trail companion or equestrian mount!
